Our Farm
Located between Harriston and Mt. Forest, Leibold Farms is approximately an hour from the Kitchener Waterloo area.
The Leibold's first came to this property in the early 1860's and after several years of back breaking labour to clear and cultivate a portion of the land, they were granted a deed for the 100 acre property by the Province of Canada in May of 1867. A bank barn was constructed within a couple years of the deed being granted using the materials gathered during the land clearing. Although additions have been added to it over the years, the original bank barn is still standing and is in excellent condition. In 1878, a stone house was constructed using the stones gathered from almost 15 years of land clearing and the Leibold's have called this home ever since.
A 50 acre farm down the road that Ross Leibold, the fourth generation.to run the farm, had always had his on eye, came up for sale in 1967 and was subsequently purchased. This land is mainly used for hay and for bee hives and it is a beautiful piece of property.
